Why Upgrade Your AC?

There are many reasons to upgrade to, or install a high efficiency, Energy Star certified AC in your home.

  1. The efficiency at which air conditioners produce cooling is referred to as the SEER rating. SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio, and is a ratio of the amount of cooling produced (BTU) divided by the amount of electricity (watts) that is used. The higher the SEER rating, the greater the efficiency of the air conditioner. To sum it up – a higher SEER means higher savings. Old, inefficient air conditioners may be operating at 8 SEER or lower. Our units are up to 23 SEER, Energy Star air conditioners – among the best in the business!
  2. New a-coils. All of our air conditioning systems are equipped with brand new, high efficiency a-coils which qualify the product for many rebates and result in maximized savings for the homeowner.
  3. Environmentally friendly. Our air conditioning systems contain R410A refrigerant which does not contain chlorine, making it more environmentally friendly than R-22 refrigerant. R410A will help increase the durability and reliability of air conditioner compressors.
  4. Quiet operation. All of our air conditioners contain a three-bladed fan and louvered sound-control top which all contribute to a quieter system performance.

Cool AC Cost Savings!

How much energy and money can you save by upgrading from your old air conditioner to a new high efficiency model? Essentially, it’s a percentage based on the SEER rating of your old AC vs your new one. Let’s say that your older air conditioning system had a SEER rating of 9. If you were to upgrade to an AC with a SEER rating of 13 (the lowest efficiency available), you would reduce your power consumption by about 28%. That can translate to energy savings up to $300 per year (depending on your usage rate and the cost of electricity in your area). Upgrade to an AC with a higher SEER and you’ll experience even greater cost savings!

Types of Air Conditioners

There are two different types of ACs – central air conditioners and ductless air conditioners. The type of AC to install depends on the type of duct work (if any) that your home has, or that you wish to/are able to install.

Central Air Conditioners

Central air conditioners use your home’s duct work to circulate cool, crisp air evenly to each room in the house. They clear the air, dehumidify and lower the temperature.

Central ACs allow you to easily control the temperature of each room via a thermostat – meaning that you can enjoy perfect comfort – whichever room you’re in!

Central air conditioners are situated outside of the home and run quite quietly, meaning that you won’t be disrupted by any noise when they turn on.

Ductless Air Conditioners/ Ductless Mini Splits

A ductless air conditioner, also commonly called a ductless mini split, is the perfect choice for residences that are not equipped with the ventilation ducts required for a central AC system. This is also the ideal solution for homes that do not have enough room in the walls or ceilings to install the ducts and ventilation to support a central AC.

How does it work? The ductless mini-split uses a small unit called a cassette, fastened to the wall of the largest room in your home. The ductless AC unit uses a powerful fan to blow the air conditioned air throughout the home. Larger homes may feature multiple ductless AC cassettes throughout for maximum cooling.
